Thursday 08 September Visby to Karlshamn

We are leaving the island of Gotland today and heading for the south west coast of mainland Sweden. So it’s another 5:45 start to catch the 7:30 departure for Oskashamn.

Only 180 or so passengers on this boat as opposed to the 900 on the way to Gotland so the boat  feels pretty empty. Sunny departure as we say goodbye to Visby and the island which stretches extensively southwards. I seem to have chosen the worst seats again but we can sit almost anywhere. Breakfast on board.

We drive for about 2 and a half hours through unremarkable countryside and arrive at Karlshamn in time for a walk to the harbour and with time to plan our visit to Copenhagen. Finnish smoked salmon tinned peas and crème fresh pasta for supper.
